When Charlotte (Lottie) was just six months old, while in the care of her in-home caregiver, she was violently shaken by the babysitter. Lottie was severely injured and almost died.
Her parents, Lisa and KC Wilson spent countless hours at the hospital. They were unable to work and with no FLMA benefit, had no paychecks coming in. Charlotte has shown great signs of healing, but she still has lasting effects. She is continually being monitored for seizures, she requires to be on thyroid medication, and has a speech delay. It is too early to tell if she will develop normally.
To help the Wilson family get back on their feet again, we’ve planned a fundraising event in Charlotte’s honor, “Love for Lottie”. Our non-profit partner, The Brighton Center will attend the event to raise awareness about mental health issues for caregivers and where they can find help.
The event is scheduled for October 24th, 2021 and features two of the best blues bands in our area: The Ben Levin Band and The Erin Coburn Band. We’ve planned for a silent auction, split-the-pot, and a door prize. We’ll also have Zoomers Food Truck there. It’s a Family Friendly, event that everyone would enjoy. Tickets are only $20 and we are happy to accept any donation.
