Do You Love Blues Music?
If you love blues music like we do, you love going out to your favorite club, or concert hall, or a blues festival on a hot summer’s day, listening to great blues music, and downing some cold brews while you hang out with your friends.
Shrinking Audience For Blues Music
But what if there were no Blues Society? While there would probably still be some blues in Cincinnati, your opportunities to see live blues would likely become very limited like they were 30 years ago before the Blues Society.
This may sound like a dire prediction, but as you may know, the Cincy Blues Society has been going through a rough patch with a shrinking audience. The shrinking audience has cause a downward spiral of smaller budgets and less ability to bring in good talent. Some of this is due to demographic issues out of our control, while some other things should be within our control.
What We Plan To Do About It
We could use your help to keep our programs and events running in 2020 while we work hard to reorganize and improve things.
We did a satisfaction survey this past summer, so we already know which issues are important to you. The annual election of the board and officers is this Tuesday, which will bring in some new talent who are ready to roll up their sleeves and get to work. We will also be working on expanding our audience among Baby Boomers as well as younger demographics with proven marketing techniques. Some of this is already underway.
