Do you love blues music? Have you enjoyed the programs of the Cincy Blues Society such as the Bluesletter, the events calendar at cincyblues.org, Cincy Blues Fest, the Blues in the Schools Band, the Cincy Blues Challenge, and more?
On the 10th anniversary of the Society, we noted that the local blues scene had grown from a handful of bands and venues, with very few national acts touring through, to about 40 bands and venues with a constant stream of national acts, many of whom were Cincy Blues Fest alumni. That’s a 6-fold increase in the size of the local blues scene! The local scene has remained at about this size.
This shows how much of a difference the presence of a Blues Society makes.
However, as you may know, the Cincy Blues Society has been going through a rough patch. This is the first time in 30 years we’ve had a fund drive like this. We could use your help to keep our programs running, while we work hard to reorganize and make the Society better.
The Annual Election is this Tuesday, and looking at the nominees, we anticipate the new board and officers will be a talented and dedicated crew. We did a survey earlier this year, so we know what issues are important to you. We’ll be brainstorming ideas on how to make improvements. We’ve already started proven marketing methods to increase our audience, but these things take some time. We could use your help to bridge the gap.
Please take a minute to click on the link for the donation page, and read in more detail about what’s needed and why. Then, consider donating to make sure your favorite programs continue, while we work hard to improve things.
Many thanks to those who have already donated – Coleen, Chris, Rob, James, Kristin, John, William, BRB, Peter, Ernie, Margaret, Mike, Tresa, Carl, Gene, Michael, and Richard – we really appreciate your donations!
