About “Horn from the Heart: the Paul Butterfield Story”:
He started with the flute and then guitar, but found his lifetime calling when he picked up a Hohner harmonica. Discover the story of legendary blues musician Paul Butterfield when Horn from the Heart: The Paul Butterfield Story screens Nov 7 *only* at The Woodward Theater.
He was influenced by his heroes on Chicago’s South Side, Muddy Waters, Little Walter, Howlin’ Wolf and others. But in the end, Paul Butterfield’s blues ended up re-defining the blues altogether. Few musicians earn a place in the Blues Hall of Fame AND the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Paul Butterfield is one of those few.
“It’s such a personal instrument. It’s really like a horn from the heart.” – Paul Butterfield
“Horn from the Heart” is presented in partnership with Cincy Blues Society.
About Johnny Walker:
Like Paul Butterfield, Johnny Walker is a harmonica-playing blues man from the Midwest. The Ohio native is best-known for leading the Soledad Brothers, a blues-rock combo that released several albums, including the major-label effort “Voice of Treason” in 2003 for Polydor. Walker’s current band is All-Seeing Eyes. He lives in Dayton, Kentucky.
