The Jay Jesse Johnson Band has been playing in the Tri-State area since 2008.
Jay Jesse Johnson started playing guitar at the age of ten. Influenced by American blues and rock n’ roll greats, Johnson has worked in recording studios from New York City to San Francisco and has professionally played in venues throughout North America. In 2010, Johnson was featured in Classic Rock Magazine along with Joe Bonamassa, on the CD, Bluesbreaker’s (the hottest new blues/rock.) Over the years, Johnson has shared the stage with Johnny Winter, Robin Trower, Rick Derringer, Pat Travers and The Fabulous Thunderbirds, to name a few. Currently, Johnson is featured on the April 2013 cover mount CD in UK’s, “The Blues Magazine.” In 2012, Johnson released his fourth solo album, Run With The Wolf, on Blues Bureau International / Shrapnel Records, which has received rave reviews and airplay worldwide; charting in the top 50 on the syndicated program, Smokestack Lightning, as well as charting in the Roots Music Report consecutively for three months. Prior solo album efforts include, Play That Damn Guitar (2009), I’ve Got An Ax To Grind (2008) and Strange Imagination (2006) (Grooveyard Records.)
