The big sound of a 4-piece horn section playing sharp arrangements is just one of the uncommon assets of The SoulFixers. They are Joe Polen on Baritone Saxophone, Greg Hines on Tenor Saxophone, Roland Joseph on Trumpet and Byron Walton on Trumpet. There’s also Greg Hudson on Keyboards, Roger Bates on Drums, Tony Nasser on Bass and Bob Herrmann on guitar.
They are named for Blues Hall of Famer Luther Allison’s song Soul Fixin’ Man. They were the winner of the Dayton Ohio Road to Memphis Blues challenge and semifinalists at the 2016 International Blues Challenge in Memphis Tennessee.
They play songs from their 2015 CD ‘Fix It Up!” as well as other contemporary and classic blues songs.
