“Hailed as one of the most electrifying guitarists you’ll ever hear,” Jay Jesse Johnson (JJJ) has worked in recording studios from New York City to San Francisco and has performed in venues throughout North America. In 2010, Johnson was featured in Classic Rock Magazine along with Joe Bonamassa, on the CD, Bluesbreaker’s, the hottest new blues/rock. Over the years, Johnson has shared the stage with Johnny Winter, Robin Trower, Pat Travers and The Fabulous Thunderbirds, to name a few. Johnson was featured on the April 2013 CD, The Cream of Contemporary Blues, in UK’s, “Blues Magazine.” In 2012, Johnson released his fourth solo album, Run With The Wolf, on Blues Bureau International / Shrapnel Records, which has received rave reviews and airplay worldwide. Charting in the top 50 in 2012 on the syndicated program, Smokestack Lightning, Run With The Wolf also charted on the National Roots Music Report for more than three months. Prior solo albums include, Play That Damn Guitar (2009), I’ve Got An Ax To Grind (2008) and Strange Imagination (2006) (Grooveyard Records.) The current line-up of the Jay Jesse Johnson Band includes Cincinnati natives Reed Bogart on bass, Jeff Donaldson, drums and Lee Evans, on the Hammond B-3.
