Baxter and the Boxheads is the brainchild of the blues guitarist, Dan Beasley. After the lead singer in the Six Strings Down passed away seven year ago, Dan tried to keep the band together. They just couldn’t find that spark that was special before.
Enter mandolin/guitar player, Jamie Davidson. Dan and Jamie have worked together at their day job, for many years. Jamie also plays in MonkeyTonk, and Mt. Pilot Party Girls. With his mandolin, he brings a different texture to the blues.
Kevin Eagan is coworker of Dan, and Jamie. Kevin and Jamie ran into each other at a Shades of Blue show. They talked together that night about someday playing together. He has played drums around the west side for many years. He has most recently played drums with singer/songwriter Chris Collier.
Another band member, Burt Tienken has been friends with Jamie since high school. Burt plays bass for Mt. Pilot Party Girls. He brings a strong baritone gospel vocal. In addition, he has played with Ricky Nye.
