Cincy Blues Society Brings the Blues
to the West Chester/Liberty (Lineup)
The Rotary Club of West Chester/Liberty is hosting the 2013 Voice of America BBQ Bash. This premier community fundraising event will be held on Friday, May 17 and Saturday, May 18, 2013 at the historic Voice of America National Museum of Broadcasting on Tylersville Road.
This year’s Voice of America BBQ Bash is expected to draw more than 10,000 visitors for two days of great food, great music and great fun! Since 1990, the Cincy Blues Society has been "Keeping the Blues Alive" through performance and education. For two decades they have hosted the world-renowned Cincy Blues Fest in the city nicknamed “Porkopolis.” Now they bring the best Blues in Cincinnati to West Chester for the BBQ Bash.
The 2013 event will feature the Buckeye State BBQ Championship sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society and designated an official State BBQ Championship by the Governor of Ohio! That means 30-40 of the Top BBQ teams in the nation will set-up along “Pit Road” to compete for cash awards and the title of Buckeye State BBQ Champion. Dozens of the top BBQ Teams in the nation will set-up on "Pit Road" to compete in the first ever Buckeye State BBQ Championship. Local teams such as Jim Dandy’s, SmoQ, Somethin Serious BBQ, Historic BBQ and more along with teams traveling in from Houston TX and Waterford Michigan to compete as well.
A Kid Again, Southwest Chapter will provide Inflatable rides Friday and Saturday, a petting zoo from Kentucky on Saturday from 11:30-4;30, face-painters and much, much more. Friday evening adults will be allowed to play on the rides after 10:00 p.m. Proceeds from the Kid’s Zone will help provide year-round “adventures” for children with life-threatening illnesses.
For over 20 years, the Rotary Club of West Chester/Liberty has provided financial assistance to local non-profit organizations such as the Edge Teen Center, Reach Out Lakota, the Center for Family Solutions, Big Brothers & Big Sisters, A Kid Again, the Boy Scouts of America and many, many more!
